Over 80 years young, the University of Delaware's Study Abroad Program (the first in the world!) encourages students to become scholars in foreign lands, earning credits, honing their language skills, and broadening their understanding of their own role in our increasingly global world. In a typical year, circa 70 programs are offered in about 30 different countries, providing courses in a wide variety of academic concentrations and departments. Imagine studying in such exotic locales as: Bayreuth, Germany; Granada, Spain; London, England; Paris, France; Edinburgh, Scotland; Siena, Italy; Costa Rica; Kobe, Japan; and Chur, Switzerland. Most programs are curricular based, are taught in English or the native language of the host country, and fit smoothly into your four-year plan of study. Savvy students sign up for Study Abroad courses held during Winter Session. Rather than hanging at home for the month of January, Delaware undergrads utilize their passports for learning and travel to distant lands.
