The University of Delaware is a teaching university. With a ratio of 14 full-time undergraduate students to each faculty member, Delaware students will tell you that they truly know their teachers and advisors. Accessibility is the key word that pops up over and over again - through e-mail, between class appointments, for lunch on Main Street, at graduation celebrations - our faculty are there and committed to making a difference in the lives of our students. In addition to teaching, our faculty conduct research. Over 600 faculty members accept undergraduates as research assistants, giving talented, motivated students the opportunity to see and take part in what is happening on the front lines of discovery at the university today. Our excellent teaching quality is constantly enhanced through such University initiatives as the Center for Teaching Effectiveness.
