Freshman Application Dates

Considering applying to the University of Delaware? Please keep the following dates in mind as you are completing the application process:

Fall 2007 Admission

Applicants who want full consideration for all programs and scholarships and the University Honors Program:

  • December 1
    Submit the UD Application for Admission or the Common Application and Supplement

Applicants who want to be considered for admission to the fall semester should apply no later than the following date:

  • January 15
    Submit the UD Application for Admission or the Common Application and Supplement
  • Mid-March
    Admission Decision Notification Date
  • May 1
    Deposit Deadline for all Regular Decision freshman applicants

*Students who apply to the University of Delaware after January 15 will be considered on a "space available" basis.

The University of Delaware admits all Delawareans whose academic records predict success.
Approximately 65% of the Delawareans who apply are offered admission to the Newark campus.

We generally admit between 40-45% of the out-of-state students who apply. Below are approximate ranges for grade point averages and standardized test scores of the middle 50% of our out-of-state applicants who were offered Fall 2006 admission:

High School Grade Point Average (calculated on a 4.0 scale where A=4.0, B=3.0, etc)
  • middle 50% of all admitted freshmen
3.45-3.90
  • middle 50% of freshmen admitted to the University Honors Program
3.80-4.00

SAT Reasoning Test (based on the best individual scores from all testings)
  • middle 50% of all admitted freshmen

  • middle 50% of freshmen admitted to the University Honors Program

Average ACT Composite (includes the ACT equivalents of SAT scores)
