The University of Delaware accepts credits from regionally accredited institutions in which the students received a grade of "C" or better in college-level courses (not remedial). Pass/Fail grades are not accepted. To receive a University of Delaware degree, admitted students must complete a minimum of either the first 90 or last 30 credits, full- or part-time, at the University of Delaware.
The University Transfer Center will complete a preliminary evaluation of transfer credits once a student is admitted. The final determination regarding equivalent coursework and the number of credit hours applicable to your degree program at the University of Delaware rests with the Dean of your College or the individual department. Admitted students should be prepared to provide course descriptions for faculty review, if their coursework transfers as departmental elective credit.
While a student's cumulative GPA is used to determine admissibility, grade point averages do not transfer. A new grade point average begins with the student's career at the University and reflects only work completed at the University of Delaware.
The University of Delaware undergraduate catalog is available online. It can also be purchased at the University Bookstore or Campus Shop. A catalog is provided to all enrolling students during the orientation and advisement process.
Students with college work at Delaware Technical and Community College or Delaware State University should consult the Transfer of Credit Matrix for information regarding course-for-course equivalencies between those institutions and the University of Delaware.
