Certified athletic trainers (ATCs) are medical experts in preventing, recognizing, managing and rehabilitating injuries that result from physical activity. Athletic trainers can help you avoid unnecessary medical treatment and disruption of normal daily life; if you’re injured, they can get you on the mend and keep you on the move.
AREA OF EMPHASIS AT DELAWARE
Students pursuing this academic major are first admitted as "Athletic Training Interest" (ATI) students. After fulfilling the first year prerequisite courses and clinical experience requirements, students formally apply for acceptance into the Athletic Training Education Program. The program involves a selective admissions process with 10 –15 students accepted annually. The Athletic Training Education Program at the University of Delaware is a nationally accredited program and recognized by the Joint Review Committee on Athletic Training (JRC-AT).
