Clinical Services Concentration prepares students for careers in human services, prevention, and family support programs. It is designed for students who want “hands-on” practical experiences in the field culminating in a clinical internship.
AREAS OF EMPHASIS AT DELAWARE
The Clinical Services concentration is designed for students wishing to work within public and private agencies serving clients, infants through the elderly, and their families. Combining course work and clinical experiences, the program of study prepares graduates for careers in direct client services and developing quality programs for individuals and families. Students are also prepared to pursue graduate degrees in careers addressing the needs of individuals and their families, such as in community and school counseling, social work, and family therapy. The Department of Individual and Family Studies prepares students for challenging careers with individuals and families through the lifespan. The Human Services major has concentrations in Clinical Services and Administration and Family Policy. Graduates become leaders in early education, family support, non-profit sector, and public policy arena, with many students pursuing advanced study. Students value the department’s close faculty-student relationships, its varied field experiences, and its many opportunities for undergraduate research.
