Marketing identifies common wants and needs among diverse groups of people, selects target markets, and develops strategies for new and existing products. Marketers formulate plans for pricing, distributing, and promoting products and services to facilitate mutually beneficial exchanges. AREA OF EMPHASIS AT DELAWARE

The Department of Business Administration offers a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing. The Marketing major prepares students to serve the vital role as the enterprise’s liaison with consumers. Like all programs in the Department of Business Administration, the program provides a broad liberal arts education in the first half of the program through a variety of courses in liberal arts and sciences. The program design provides flexibility in the selection of humanities and social and natural science courses. The second half of the program is concentrated in the business core and the professional marketing major. Marketing courses emphasize the application of scientifically verified principles to complex marketing situations.
