Mathematics - the study of patterns, relations, quantity and space - is both a science unto itself and a tool for many other disciplines including the physical and life sciences, engineering, economics and sociology. Mathematicians use the principle of logic, number theory, quantitative and qualitative reasoning to solve problems in a broad range of fields.

AREA OF EMPHASIS AT DELAWARE

The BA degree is a flexible program for students to pursue a liberal arts education. Students in this program often declare a minor in computer science, economics or in elementary education. With the right mix of courses, students can also go into actuarial work after graduation.
