Students in the Department of Music benefit from a low student-faculty ratio allowing for much personal interaction with a faculty committed to undergraduate education. The members of the music faculty are all professionally active performers, composers, music educators, and music historians. Resident faculty ensembles include the Del’Arte Wind Quintet, Taggart-Grycky Flute and Guitar Duo, and the UD Faculty Jazz. The study of music at Delaware is enriched by nearly 150 performances each year by faculty, students, and guest artists. In addition, the vast musical resources of Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and New York City are easily accessible to Delaware music students.
