Women's Studies is an interdisciplinary field that allows students to investigate sexism, racism, and classism through the lens of social, scientific, historical, and cultural disciplines. It examines the rich heritage, challenges and concerns of women and enhances an awareness of the interplay of gender in everyday life. AREA OF EMPHASIS AT DELAWARE Women's Studies offers interdisciplinary perspectives on the past and current status of women around the world and on the formation of gender and its intersections with other relations of power, such as sexuality, race, class, nationality, religion, and age. Questions are addressed within the context of a transactional world and from perspectives as diverse as history, sociology, political science, linguistics, economics, anthropology, literary and cultural studies, philosophy, science, and the arts.
