Volunteer Admissions Support Team

What is VAST?

  • VAST is an association of enthusiastic UD Alumni, Students, Faculty, Staff, and Parents who assist the Office of Undergraduate Admissions in recruiting new students to the Newark campus. VAST was established in 1986 as part of the Office of Admissions with the full support of Alumni Relations. Since VAST's inception, 1,550 volunteers have given personal attention to over 105,000 prospective students or parents.

Our Goal:

By becoming involved in this important volunteer effort for the University, members of VAST not only strengthen their association with UD but also keep abreast of the exciting changes and improvements that occur each year on campus. By interacting with prospective students, members of VAST will:

  • Personalize the college-choice process for students and parents

  • Provide unique insights about the nature and value of a UD degree

  • Answer questions and serve as an Admissions liaison

  • Help attract a diverse and academically able first-year class

  • Assist students in making the best college choice

Through achievable goals and effective projects, VAST volunteers help the University of Delaware reach its enrollment objectives while promoting the value of earning a baccalaureate degree.
