And then we'll fight! fight! fight! for Delaware,

Fight for the Blue and Gold,

And when we hit that line,

Our team is there

with a daring spirit bold

And when we strike with might

Let foes beware

Our glorious name we'll uphold

And then we'll fight! fight! fight! for Delaware,

Fight for the Blue and Gold,

Delaware will shine to-night,

Delaware will shine.

When the sun goes down and

the moon comes up,

Delaware will shine.

And then we'll fight! fight! fight! for Delaware... [repeat]

The Delaware Fight Song, popular since the 1930s, was composed by alumnus George F. Kelly '15. Its first appearance is found in the Student Handbook from 1933. It is performed at home football games and at other athletic contests by the Delaware Marching Band and other instrumental ensembles.

Trabant University Center

By Car

From the North: Proceed on I-95 South to Delaware Exit 1B; Route 896 North, which becomes South College Avenue at the intersection of Route 4. Continue straight for 2.4 miles. You'll pass UD's athletic complex on your right. Continue on South College Avenue, past the Visitors Center on the left, until the road ends at a "T" which is Main Street. Make sure you're in the left lane, turn left onto Main Street and then left into the Main Street Parking Garage which is adjacent to the Trabant University Center. Use the Trabant University Center entrance, which faces the garage. For orientation once you're on campus, see the Campus Maps page.

From the South: Proceed on I-95 North to Delaware Exit 1 (Route 896 North, Newark). See directions "From the North" above.

From the West: Take the Pennsylvania Turnpike East to Route 283 South. Continue on Route 283, which becomes Route 30 outside of Lancaster, to Route 896 South. Once you get to Newark, at the dead end, turn left onto Cleveland Avenue. At the next light (College Avenue), make a right and make another right at the next light (Main Street). Immediately get into your left lane and turn left into the Main Street Parking Garage which is adjacent to the Trabant University Center. Use the Trabant University Center entrance which faces the garage.

By Air or Rail

By Plane: UD is only fifty minutes south of the Philadelphia International Airport and a little over an hour's drive north from Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI). Ground transportation to and from campus is provided by Delaware Express (800) 648-5466 and Super Shuttle (800) 258-3826. If you're renting a car at the Philadelphia airport, proceed to I-95 South and follow the directions listed above "From the North." If you're renting a car at BWI, proceed to I-95 North and follow directions "From the South."
